I looked through the tips and tricks, but didnt see anything on this. I want to add an EXT. to a number to one of my contacts. I have (519)258-7777 (now the extension of the person I need). Do i add a "x" after the number with a space then the extsion? Maybe this... 519-258-7777 x 1234 ? Dont want to waste my minutes messing with this, so I thought I'd ask you guys/gals.
thanks...

On some systems you can use a p (pause) w (wait) or a comma to enable dialing extensions. I normally use a comma on AT&T network with no issues. I use one comma to represent one second delay or one ring tone, if you want a two second delay use two commas.

Hey cool, thanks Bryan B! I've always wondered this too, make a lot of calls using extensions or passcodes...

If you're not sure how long it will take for the dialed number to answer you can use w instead of comma... then when the call is finally answered you press Talk and the extension (or passcode) gets automatically dialed.
For my office and home voicemail access I use two w's, one before the accountnum and the second before the password... waiting until the prompt before pressing Talk. Here's how it looks in Contacts with the first phone number being the AT&T voicemail central in Chicago: +1 (312) 335-3100 w#3129999999w9999 Works very well on prompted systems.
