Default AT&T Tethering - CAB

Guys, I was looking at the instructions to get tethering working on a Fuze and realized I can probably get it turned into a CAB. (the original instructions are here: http://www.fuzemobility.com/how-to-s...-the-att-fuze/)
I've tried it and it works for me. If anyone wants to give it a go install the attached and then when you go to the Internet Sharing application you'll have a drop down box at the bottom that you can set to MediaNet (before the cab this drop down box shouldn't be present) and if you set it to MediaNet you should be set.
Thanks for the feedback as always.

Question

Thanks davidk!

Just to be clear...this is a circumvention of ATT's pay-to-play tethering plan, correct?

ie may be construed as theft of service?

I ask for obvious reasons because my device and plan are corporate...

Yes it is intended to circumvent AT&T's paid plan. I used to use it on my Tilt all the time and even though my usage had to border excessive they never billed me for it (my understanding is that AT&T can tell when tethering occurs even when circumvented but it doesn't show in their system as tethering so it doesn't get billed). I think the general consensus is the same - as long as you don't go nuts on it you won't get billed but I udnerstand the concerns on a corporate account (I have the same) I haven't had a use for it on my Fuze yet - it may violate the TOS of AT&T but calling it theft is a stretch since AT&T knows about it

Thanks in advance for the cab. My question is wether we need to follow the original intructions or does the cab already take care of the neded changes in the instructions.

The cab takes care of everything. I've now posted it on it to the main site. Just installt he cab, choose 'internet sharing' when connecting to your PC and then open the Internet Sharing app in your programs directory and set it to MediaNet and you're tethered.

Tilt is even easier - just find internetsharing (the app is located in \Windows) and run it They didn't lock it on the tilt- just hid it...

Awesome. I noticed the change with explanations on the main site. I'll try it tonight.
Do you know if a laptop surfing the internet uses more kb(whatever its called) than an equivalent page seen on the ATT fuze. Just wonderring for usage purposes. I would only use this while driving on a trip. My wife complaints about not having internet and she gets bored.

It uses more because when you surf the web you will be going to the full pages and not the mobile page and all of the garbage java, ajax, etc will be loading...

I am actually testing it while writing this message and this thing is amazingly fast. I almost feel like double checking to make sure my wifi is turned off because it feels as fast as my current 54g router.
